Ray and Dave Davies were the frontmen of the Kinks, Peter Quaife was the bass player but due to his good looks they used him as their spokesman. He also quit the band in 1969.  
People can answer what they want but I was hoping people would be a little more imaginative than just picking a band because someone has passed.

Because it’s not really even a band, per-se. It’s Trent Reznor and other.

\<shrug\> probably should have qualified it so that merely figurative names not meant to be taken literally (like #4 & #6 above) were ineligible. #1, #2, and the various pseudo-siblings lineups would be (and #7 I always get mixed up with Dusty Springfield). But I didn’t want to get ninja’ed again…
