I tried it once a while back and I was pretty impressed. It’s not quite as overwhelmingly peaty as the description might suggest, but it still packs a fair punch.
If you’re a fan of Ardbeg and Lagavulin and the like then you’ll love it - but if Islays in general turn you off then it’s best avoided.
Compass box do a fantastic range of whiskies - if you can get hold of if I’d recommend the Hedonism - a blend of grain whiskies that can stand up to any malt. It completely changed my perception of both grain and blends.
