Quadraphonic [plays on the state-of-the-art stereo tech; also smacks of The Who] The Porn 'Staches [maybe the band members could glue these on for their concerts?.. otherwise, it’s just hipster irony] Beery Bill [plays on Billy Beer and playbill] Still Leaded [plays on the early '70’s phasing out of leaded gasoline; also suggestive of Led Zep covers] Haven’t read the whole thread, so apologies if I’m echoing anyone else, but Galaxie 500’s been taken (and your hubby wouldn’t want to cover any of their stuff, either, FWIW). ---

Thanks so much for all the great suggestions. And yes, we saw shortly after we came up with it that Galaxie 500 is already taken. Damn them! I should mention that their name for now is 8-Track Prom, unless they come up with something better. Hence this thread. There isn’t a single artist they plan to focus on; it’s pretty much that if the tune will get people dancing, they’ll probably cover it. I just took a peek at their sample playlist, and here are some of the bands they’ll cover: - Rolling Stones - Led Zeppelin - KC & the Sunshine Band - Blondie - Kool & the Gang - Pat Benetar - The Bee Gees - KISS - Hot Chocolate - Foghat - Peter Frampton - Aerosmith - The Cars - Tom Petty - Joe Walsh - Queen … and a whole bunch of others. Looks fun. ---
