It goes on to mention Holy F being barred from playing a second gig at Coachella because of their name, along with the Barenaked Ladies mentioned upthread, back in the day. My point to all of this is that I know what you are trying to get at, names like The Doors and so on. But in reality, anything goes with regards to band names, as long as there are no obscenities. ---

I bet that band has had to struggle more than they would have with another name, though. It really has to limit their possibilities. And I don’t think some club wants to put something like “Bankruptcy Sale” on marquee, unless this band has somehow already made a really big splash. ---

Yes, I know there had been a band called Free Beer. That’s why I started this. I also heard that they had a hard time getting gigs because the club management was tired of the arguments from the patrons. I can imagine that to be true.
