Not exactly genitalia, but there is (was?) a Portland band called \Sweaty Nipples\. When Nine Inch Nails and David Bowie played at the Rose Garden a few years ago, the open band was called (iirc) \Prick\. ---

As for the story about Grandma Pearl’s homemade jam, that may be true, although it seems like a strange coincidence that they’ve innocently picked a name that happens to have a crude alternative meaning. I don’t know Eddy Vedder’s intention, but if I were to name my band Pearl Necklace, for example, then part of the fun would be pretending that my band’s name meant nothing other than my favourite piece of jewellery - but that’s just me. ---

Now, what _I_ heard was the “Grandma Pearl’s hallucinogenic jam” story was a joke on the fans, and that the name is an homage to Earl “The Pearl” Monroe’s basketball-playing abilities.
