I just read back through the thread, amazed that we’ve apparently missed [Run-D.M.C.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Run%E2%80%93D.M.C.) ---

> [@Gordon\_Urquhart](#): > > There are also bands that went under both their full name and the name’s abbreviation, such as Emerson, Lake & Palmer (ELP), and Electric Light Orchestra (ELO). > > I’m not necessarily looking for common but unofficial shortenings of band names, such as “TFF” for “Tears For Fears,” but they can certainly be added to the discussion. What you got? Guns N’ Roses is frequently abbreviated GNR (or similar style of spelling) and the official title of their second album is _G N’ R Lies_. ---

[D.I.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D.I._(band)) They really need to re-release [_Reagan Der Führer_](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=952Ej7Cvfn8), perhaps changing the name. My favourite of theirs is [_Richard Hung Himself_](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZOK5o1Wqg0), even if they do say ‘non **seglitur** ’. ---
