# Bank of America fascists

I’ve been with a local CU for 21 years. Honestly, I first signed up with them when I got my first job after grad school because they were the only ones who had direct deposit. I’m so glad that I did. They’re great. I can use any ATM in the world and they refund the fees.

The banks don’t really want to redo mortgages, even though their actions were responsible for the financial crisis that destroyed home values.  
There was an agency set up to help out the homeowners but just this week, the government returned 30 billion into the general fund instead of sticking to their promises.  
Many of the banks don’t have the mortgages anymore.l They packaged them off in the securities they sold. The banks got into “robo signing” to pretend they had ownership. they don’t want that to get out more than it has. The whole real estate market is s disaster created by the big banks.  
The banks don’t want to drop the value of the homes. Some will reluctantly lower mortgage rates to keep the owner in the home. But they still want the assets side of their ledgers to show the elevated price. That is what makes it look like they are so solvent. That is part of why they can reward themselves with huge salaries and bonuses.

It’s consistent with the bank’s history. It was founded by A. P. Giannini, who actually was a fascist, from Italy and everything.
