UPDATE: The local branch manager waived the NSF fee (although she was grumpy about it), and the $600 charge has been removed. We still don’t know where it came from or who used the card, but hopefully the bank is investigating. In the meantime, we’ve ordered a new card.
We also lowered the maximum amount of money that can be run through the card in a 24-hour period to produce an effect similar to having a low-limit credit card.
No resolution yet on the issue of whether the card can be used online without a violation of the Wells Fargo/VISA agreement.
