I have a banner add above the Straight Dope banner when I go to MPSIMS, but not in any other forum. It’s for Ford trucks. When I open a new tab and load MPSIMS, it’s not there. Is the board trying something new, or do I have some spammy spyware crap on my computer? While waiting for the page to load, the status bar said it was waiting for ‘[afe.specificclick.net](http://afe.specificclick.net)’ if that matters to anybody. Thanks! EDIT: And now that I’ve posted this, it’s gone. Guess I’ll start looking for spyware… ---

Any chance you might have gotten to MPSIMS while in a frame from another site? ---

We’ll soon start displaying banner ads for users that are not Members or higher. Even if you are a Member or higher you’ll also see banner ads if you are not currently logged in to the SDMB. I’m testing the banner code implementation so the banners will be appearing and then disappearing until I get the implementation correct. Jerry ---

Oh good, I’m not crazy, either. Suddenly, just now, full-color ads for Discover Card and Netflix started appearing in GQ. ---
