Why is this thread still open?
If you want a vision of the future, imagine a face on a stamp - forever. Guess I’m unboycotting myself after Ed Zotti’s splendid post in ATMB: sometimes it’s just nice to be told what’s going on and why.
I can only conclude that your one man boycott worked! If you’re ever in California, I could use your help getting a raise at the job.
Very nicely done.
They will continue to get my money also. I delighted about this as my leaving was pissing me off but it had to be done from my POV.
I’ll give them more if required. I’d even go over the minimum if the option was available to me.
Boycotts only work if those in charge are financially hurt by the customers actions. They already got your $15 what do they care if you post or not?
This reminds me of my Junior High ‘sit in’ to protest the removal of the pop machines.
Ahhhh, for all us ‘complainers,’ I suppose that ‘whining’ at least matters to our new Overlords. Seems they might actually care about our opinions. Whodathunkit? So once again, thank you Creative Loafing for taking all of the rest of us into account and apologies to anyone the rest of us have offended by whining our complaints.
Yeah, that’s me, adding value to the site. Seriously, I’m not a prolific, controversial or well-known poster, but witty quips are something I do, and do well. There are a lot of people here - probably the majority of the members - who aren’t “name” posters, but who help in their own individual ways to foster the general smart, funny, well-informed ambience of the place. It’d be a real shame to lose those people; it would see the gutting of the board, which was what was threatened with the general mobilisation of posters that we’ve just seen.
Hopefully, with sense apparently seen by the new management, we won’t have a reason to leave: me, I feel that I still have a lot to contribute to this being the place that it is, in my own way, and I’m very glad that a stupid, short-sighted decision that would have driven me away has been rescinded. It’s actually quite heartening that the new owners do seem to be prepared to listen to the members, so let’s hope it continues: if they want to work with us, this site can do good stuff.
