Not sure this is the correct forum as it is a query, but it relates to the administration of the board.
In another [thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=482119)a poster called Dude Walker (or similar) comes up as banned, yet of his/ her three posts none seemed controversial. Was this poster a sock puppet- and is there an easy way to find out?

> If you have a question about a thread or poster who “disappeared,” please DO NOT post an inquiry. In probably 95% of such cases, the thread (or poster) that vanished was an attention-seeker – a spammer , sock, or troll. They’re out for any attention, even negative attention, and we don’t want to give it to them. They disappear, as do their posts. And as do posts about them.

> So, if you have a question about such, please email a moderator. DO NOT post your question. DO NOT give these folks any publicity, acknowledgement, or recognition.

This comes up all the time. Any moderator will be glad to give you an answer in email.

I"ll close this thread and send you the info.

And, yes, this would have been better posted to ATMB
