I was watching the vDavid Lynch version of **Dune** last night. I had been struck, in the past, about the interesting parallels between that film and the first Gulf War\*, but now I see the parallels to our current president – A large fat Orange man in charge who’s causing trouble – He’s surrounded by fawning sycophants, many of whom are terrified of what he will do to them – He;s closely attended by a creepy doctor who will do whatever he wants – He’s a hot-tempered tantrum-throwing baby who insists on getting credit for everything – He likes flying everywhere Jared Kushner, his creepy son (in law), gets to run things by the Baron’s decree. Only Kushner has less style than Sting. - War in the desert War against Shaddam Lots of Night Vision Concern about use of “atomics” The “Good Guys” call their operation a “Storm” ---

I find Baron Harkonnen more likable than our current leader, frankly. But otherwise I like your metaphor. And whom do you see as Beast Rabban? ---

Well, the original Baron was smart, devious and dangerous, one of the things I didn’t like about the Lynch movie was making him into a clown. ---

The thought crossed my mind in the last few months that the Harkonnen are the embodiment of the end point for the current trajectory of the Republican party. ---
