I was 23 before I realized that the song “I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” was about a naive child who saw her mother kissing her father dressed in a Santa suit. ---

I don’t think I’ve shared this one yet: “You will be late for your own funeral!” is a pun. At my own funeral, I’d be referred to as _The Late Raguleader_ Well, actually, they’d use my real name, but you get the idea. ---

I didn’t understand what bra measurements referred for a long time. I mean the cup size letter is self explanatory but I didn’t really understand what “36” in 36DD meant. And then one day I was at the grocery store, thinking about breasts probably, and I just went “ohhhh. Circumference. Like pants.” I was 22. And this isn’t a “basic fact” at all but I am quite aware of Lloyd Bridges and I am a big fan of Jeff Bridges. And then I watched a Biography Channel thing on Jeff Bridges. And yep. Turns out they’re father and son. I had no idea. I was 24. ---

On Monday, I learned that “steer” is not just another word for “bull.” (And, when I checked the dictionary, a bullock isn’t just a small bull.) And I’m the kind of person who’d privately scoff at anyone who didn’t understand the distinction between a gelding and a stallion.
