# Basic Photoshop ?/problem

I don’t know what I clicked on, but some time ago I must have selected something on my Adobe Photoshop that puts a grid over every picture. When I go to cut out something, the cutting tool will only go around these grid boxes, which means I can’t cut around something closely, only in a pattern of rectangles. I have tried to change it back to a regular picture without the grid but I can’t figure out how to do it. The grid appears when I open the program, after shutdown and reopening… it’s been like this for months and it’s pissing me off.

Under View, go down to “Show” then select “Grid.”  
for the snapping, that’s also under the View menu.

That’s how to turn off the grid visibilty, buy I’m intrigued my your mention of only being able to cut within and around the grid itself.

You may want to try reloading the software entirely.
