# Batman and the Joker on the couch

Villains, yes. Supervillains, not so much – which is sort of my point: you can have a caped wonder in tights, complete with underpants on the outside, handling the sort of problems that exist in the real world: not super-powered criminals in spandex, not even purple-suited serial killers in clown makeup, but just ordinary-looking guys playing blackmailer, or going in for a little armed robbery, or running an illegal gambling syndicate, or whatever.
