While that would be in character for pretty much every member of Batman’s rogues gallery (and Austin Powers’ too), I don’t remember Hannibal being too much prone to it. I guess it might be a factor of whether Hannibal was in Batman’s world or vice versa. ---

Batman has faced his share of evil geniuses and outright madmen. He’s faced threats physical, spiritual, and mental. I think Lecter is smart enough to know that he can’t “beat” Batman in a conventional sense. That’s why I like my ending. It gives Lecter a victory of sorts and clears him out of the comic. Batman wins the battle but loses the war. Both characters get their story due. ---
