Jonathan Frakes’ acting ability is about as good as the toaster infantry’s marksmanship, and he made what could have been an interesting character into a comic book hero. Katie Sackhoff has done quite a bit more with her character and made Starbuck about as believable as an action character can be. ---

I was always amazed at how they spent 7 years trying to give Riker a personality (ANYTHING!) and failed utterly. I think the writing is almost as much to blame as Frakes, though. -Joe ---

I would assume since the Toasters were harvesting Starbucks eggs for Cylon Pop-Tarts (Best damn Toaster-pastries in the fleet), it’s a reasonable indicator that Kara’s _not_ obsessed with grilled bread products, unless of course her “Meatbag” programming is the best damn Meatbag programming in the fleet… ---

However, consider this. What, exactly, did we hear Black Doctor Cylon say to Blonde FireExtinguisher Head Cylon? I don’t think it was conclusive enough to say that they definitely wanted to hook Starbuck up to the Best Damn Milking Machine On The Farm. Plus, wasn’t the woman already attached to the Milking Machine part of Starbuck’s unit that got ambushed? If so, why was she already hooked up while Starbuck hadn’t been? Maybe they were doing something more involved like…implanting something? -Joe ---

In a case like that are we to assume the Cylons removed the ovaries of all the other Farm Women? If so…I think I can see the flaw in their artificial impregnation plan. -Joe ---

I’ve gotten used to cutting back to Caprica every so often, and it would be a shame not to check in on them from time to time. Plus, I suspect there’s something up with Sam. Not sure what yet, but the Cylons think Starbuck is “special” and they’re trying out this “conceive a child from love” thing, and Starbuck seemed kinda in love with Sam, and… well that’s all I’m sayin’. ---

I have to credit either Katie Sackhoff’s acting or Ron Moore’s writing because–even though I normally hate characters like hers–I don’t dislike Starbuck. In fact, I actually like her a bit (though I also reserve the right to make fun of her)! I refuse to even speculate about Starbuck being a cylon! I’ve said before that I kind of like the “who’s a cylon” guessing game–but that’s only when it’s confined to secondary characters. Dualla, Billy, Gaeta, Helo, pyramid guy, the priestess lady: fine. Adama, Apollo, Starbuck, Tigh, Laura Roselyn, Baltar: off limits! ---

This sounds, to me, more like a bad thing. Her ovaries tested positive, but what for? Ovarian cancer? That would make the spectre of “final disposition” and the regret in the doctors voice a bit more interesting. Disposition = disposal/incineration. Regret = the doctor doesn’t get to knock up another subject in the effort to carry on his work. Just a thought. ---

When Mr. Pyramid guy gave Starbuck his goodbye speech, it seemed to me that after Starbuck left he started walking in a direction away from the secret rebel base. Is it possible that his superior physical abilities are no accident? Has the second Cylon love child already been sired, with a quick prenatal check following to make sure everything’s okay?
