# Battlestar Galactica 4.15 - "The Oath" (spoiler warning)

Yup. Lots of movies and TV show someone getting whacked on the noggin enough to go “lights out,” (a chair being broken over someone’s head is a Hollywood favorite) and then they bounce back up after the next commercial fit as a fiddle and ready to fight.
Reality is, said person would be bed ridden for a week or more, impaired for two weeks to a month, and may be permanently damaged (headaches, nausea, blurred vision, permanent memory loss, loss of motor function). A solid blow to the back of the skull with a wrench could easily be lethal; if not immediately, then slow death from internal bleeding.

I think the grenade that was tossed in was a flashbang, purely to disorient Adama and Tigh, the light from the “explosion” was very blue, and no flames escaped through the gap in the doors
I’d imagine a standard High Explosive/Frag grenade would have a more orangy light from the explosion, and there should be some flames exiting the gap
overall a great episode, and I agree, Gaeta and his Merry Mutineers are going to become intimately familiar with Mister Airlock

Seriously? I thought I’d seen SciFi adverts that tell how many episodes remain… and they air BSG adverts all the time (those, and the crappy Ghost Hunters ones).
How can you possibly have avoided knowing how many episodes remain?

This is the only show I watch on SciFi channel these days, and I DVR it and skip the commercials. I actually don’t care if I find out how many episodes are left, but I don’t know, so obviously it is easy to not know. If SciFi channel hadn’t basically dropped everything worth watching, I probably would know. SciFi channel seems to be heading into a major rut these days.

Ah, so you missed the commercial for the new SciFi movie WYVERN. It’s about a 30’ long wyvern that eats people in Alaska. I’m not even kidding.
I think that Athena, Hera, Helo, Anders and Six are still in the brig. I imagine they will be used as bargaining chips when that Basestar threatens to attack Galactica in order to save them. I’m just guessing, this isn’t a spoiler.
This is a spoiler:
OK, are they REALLY going to freakin’ kill off Bill Adama? The preview showed him blindfolded in the tube about to be airlocked. I’m sorry, my heart just couldn’t take it. I hate to be a total wuss, but I don’t know that my enjoyment of the show could survive that.
Also, Kara Thrace rescuing Lee Adama was badass. So was Adama and Tigh beating the crap out of 2 marines half their ages and taking their guns. And Laura Roslin giving her speech and cutting of Tom Zarek. And Baltar threatening to out Gaeta’s little secret. So many good moments.
And predictions on how this mutiny will be ended?

I kinda figured there were some folks here that don’t watch the previews. That noted, I hereby move that nothing in the preview be discussed openly. Those of us that saw it know that there appears to be **Major Spoilers** in the preview, and it really would suck to see that if you were the type that prefer to avoid spoilers. While I’m at it, here’s a hearty **FRAK YOU!** \* to SciFi if the preview truly spoils the next episode. They’ve done that kinda thing before, and it really shows poor judgment in my view.

I was confused where another model would’ve come from, but I just rewatched that part and the Raptor had came from the Basestar. So just another generic Boomer, then.

Question: What, precisely, was the point of Adama and Tigh’s Last Stand? (Other than being really badass, I mean.) The raptor had already launched by the time the Marines cut through the door - Adama and Tigh were defending an airlock hatch, and nothing else. I mean, sure, it’s a good opportunity to kill some mutineers - but there have to be better ways to do that.

I don’t think that grenade was meant to kill them. I think they will be captured, maybe after taking some of the mutineers out. Then they can agitate for an end to the mutiny. I couldn’t see Adama abandoning the ship, could you? No, and not Tigh either. His baby mama is still on board. They will try to end the mutiny by sheer force of personality, from within. Will it work? Depends on how much of a softy Gaeta really is.

The Oath.
Adama is the Captain. He can’t flee his own damn ship. Not without surrendering his balls and his honor. He won’t do that, ever. Tigh is standing beside his friend.
Rosilyn understands. She also doesn’t expect him to survive. The kiss was a goodbye kiss.
I read the thread over at [SciFi.com](http://SciFi.com). Over 800 posts worth. There seems to be some debate as to whether Lee and Starbuck boarded the raptor or ducked into some sort of hidey hole to go Rambo next week.
Note: Scifi is openly discussing the preview, so don’t read that thread if you don’t want to know.

It’s quality stuff really. I just got inundated with so much quality from Basilisk 2 that I just can’t handle any more.

If we’re taking votes, I vote no preview discussion, please.
Gods I hate Gaeta. I hope Hoshi is the one to put a bullet in his forehead.
The Basestar needs to send a few squads of Centurions over to the Galactica. Not that that would help human/Cylon relations much, but it would make me feel good.
