Didn’t Simon remove one of Starbuck’s ovaries when she was on Caprica (or did they just take eggs)? Did anyone else think her Viper looked much more whit than normal 😉 ? ---

You know, I liked it, but… it just seemed rather what I’d expected. Except in that I expected something along the lines of Galactica jumping into New Caprica and dropping on the heads of the Cylons. Yeah, nice that all the plotlines continued as you’d expect the characters to have continued them. No weird out-of-character decisions. No dull storylines. Just, uh, what I’d expected. Even the ending: as Starbuck walked in, I expected that “To Be Continued”. Very strange, really. ---

Looks like they’re really pushing the “Kara’s a Toaster” angle towards the tail end of the episode, I think it’s actually “Kara’s a spoiled brat throwing a large-caliber temper tantrum because things aren’t going her way” (Kasbtalcttbtaghw, just rolls off the tongue, dont it? 😉 ) angle, she’s pissed off that no one’s listening to her and they think she’s a Toaster, not realizing that she’s actually acting in a very toaster-esque way Should be interesting if/when she discovers she’s married to a Toaster… this much misdirection this early can only mean they want us to think she’s a Toaster, but that may work against them, I doubt she’s a Toaster, if she is, it’ll be too much of a Jump-the Shark kinda’ situation I always suspected Dee even way back, I postulated that she may have an obsession with grilled bread products way back in S2… ---

Hmmm…that was… satisfying. Not incredible, not bad, just satisfying. Anyway, I think we met the fifth for the first time tonight. I think it’s the woman that took Baltar to the head and then beat the shit out of those guys (never did actually catch a name). No real reasoning behind it, just a gut feel. ---

_Very_ satisfying. As far as I’m concerned, they’re firing on all cylinders here. Yeah, mostly straight-ahead plot development. Starbuck’s back. Adama wants to trust her but can’t. Roslin absolutely refuses. Baltar’s headlong into his new life. Not many surprises on these fronts. And even so, it’s just incredibly well executed. That point-of-view combat footage in the opening battle? Holy _frak_ that was cool. They pulled out all the stops, then went and installed some more and pulled _those_ out. Not to mention the carefully detailed writing: Tigh observing that the Cylon detector doesn’t work (because, after all, he should know, right?), and Anders trying to comfort Starbuck while simultaneously sneaking in the “can’t humans and Cylons get along?” subtext. Nevertheless, some middling surprises throughout. Adama offering Lee his wings back: predictable; TV is built around the reset switch. But Lee refusing? That’s an interesting development, and will have significant repercussions as we continue. And the Cylon fleet bugging out upon encountering Anders? Whuh? After the fits and starts of last season, it’s really, really nice to see they’re buckling down and focusing on telling the godsdamned story. I predict a minimum of padding and nonsense over the next few weeks. And how about that preview, huh? “Stop lobotomizing the raiders”? Double whuh? BSG is back, baby. 😃 ---

Who acivated the music to call out the “four”? It would have to be the fifth, right? So that means he/she would know they were a cylon and be the one in charge. So, do our final four have duplicates? If so, where have they been hiding? About the blood test for Cylons, didn’t they discover that there were no antigens in their blood (no typing of A, B, AB, etc) when Baltar transfused Roslin with Hera’s blood? Wouldn’t that be easy to check? This is just one hole that they have failed to cover very well. That being said, BSG totally ROCKS!! ---

Starbuck can’t be the last Cylon. It’s too obvious. Besides, why would the Cylons build her a brand-new Viper without antiquing it a little? There has to be a “re-imagining” of another part of the origial series coming up, though - the Beings of Light and their Lightship. Betcha that’s who rescued Starbuck, informed her where Earth is (again, just like on the old show), magicked up a new, all-white ship for her, and sent her back as their emissary. The 12th Cylon? Well, we haven’t seen Imperious Leader yet, either. “God” might simply be the Number One Badass Cylon, coming soon to an episode near you. Baltar’s conversion to monotheism was pretty damned quick. The Six in his head can make him do anything at all, can’t she? ---

Remember, Baltar detected Lee Boomer Oswald before she shot then-Commander Adama - he just covered it up because he was scared shitless. (One of the great things about that character, by the way, is how much stuff he does simply because he’s scared shitless and has no idea what he’s doing.) The fact the Cylon detector works on Boomer-bots but not on “Final Five” cylons like Anders and Tigh suggests there’s something fundamentally different about them. ---

Time for some favorite lines from this week: Kara: If I ever found out you were a toaster, I’d put a bullet between your eyes. My wife and I actually lost our breath when she said that. I feel so bad for Anders. Amy I the only one that feels so sad for Anders, Tigh, Tyrol, and Foster? I think Foster shows such sadness in her eyes. Tigh looks like he’s practically about to go crazy(er). So what was Tigh implying when he took his gun out and put it on the desk? Was he saying they should all stop carrying guns in case they have a “kill Adama” trigger? Or was he suggesting they kill themselves? ---

At the moment, that Kara really did somehow visit Earth being the most likely thing and that _that was the signpost_, the newness of her ship could possibly imply a time travel episode coming up. Though of course maybe she did find a heck of a body shop somewhere. ---

[/QUOTE] Yah, I think it’s hard _not_ to feel sad for the Frakked Four - I mean, these are people who think of themselves as good and honorable soldiers/public servants, but they know that at any time they could have a “kill switch” flipped. They can’t trust anything they think, anything they do, or anything they say. That’s got to be a terrible thing. As for the gun - thing is, I don’t see how they _could_ stop carrying their sidearms. Aren’t those part of their uniforms? Wouldn’t it be noticed, and commented upon, if they started going unarmed? ---

[/QUOTE] I see on the Battlestar Wiki, it says that, “the final four silently agree to kill themselves so they will not bring harm to a human.” Well, we all know they aren’t all going to kill themselves. I’m still not so sure they are trying to not carry weapons. ---

That doesn’t make sense. Tigh put his weapon _down_ and left it in the yoga room, or whatever the hell that place is. How’s he going to kill himself without it? It wasn’t made clear at all, but I thought they’d agreed to make themselves \*unable \* to do what Tigh had imagined himself doing (shooting Adama, just like Boomer had - I could imaging Adama saying “Not _again_, dammit!”) - that they’d use whatever conscious control of themselves they still had while being activated to avoid harming the humans.
