Baumgartners supersonic freefall - is there a map?

Ouch? He wouldn’t feel a thing! :stuck_out_tongue:

I followed on Google Earth the lat and long position given on the Red Bull Stratos site as the jump was broadcast. He drifted west, then back east to the following position:
In this photo, FB is facing almost due west. Notice the two sandy patches southwest of the escarpment shown closer here in Google Maps as we look straight down.

Looking at the video on this site - the clock/timing may be different on other sites - notice the radial tracks on the ground. They’rehere in GM. He drifts over them from north to south at 6:10:50 or so. Notice the dark elongated patch that’s just west of the radial center, running from NW to SE. Then note it in the video.

Next you see him drift over a road with a path alongside it. Looking in the video at 7:10, you see a fence, and a couple of roads behind him. Here is the same “Pi” looking intersection in GM.

I therefore give you, with brilliant deduction…

Felix Baumgartner’s landing spot! I have to run pick up a little one, so figure the final spot yourself. It’s just a few feet from the fence, and about 50 yards from the intersection there.
