A friend of mine from high school organizes a Bay To Breakers group every year (we don’t actually sign up, we just show up). Last year, we dressed up as killer bees. It was fun (and exhausting – the blisters!), but I really don’t know many of his friends, so I thought I would see if any Dopers would want to come along. The big event is Sunday, May 20. ---

Hey, count me in … with only a few proviso’s: 1 - I _must_ be allowed to smoke along the route. 2 - No laughing at me when I throw up. 3 - I _must_ provided with reasonable pee breaks without losing the group. If this works, slap a number on my back, and whatever horrendous costume you come up with this year. ---

I got separated from the herd around mile 3 last year. Because I was absolutely convinced that the rest of the group was ahead of me, I pressed on without a single stoppage because I didn’t want to look like a slow dweeb. At the end, I discovered that I had been 15 minutes ahead of everyone else. This year, I think I will be more likely to include the occasional stoppage in my plans.
