# Be my thesaurus

I’m looking for a word to describe this situation:
_Okay, you’ve done something to me that I don’t like. I’ll accept it, but I don’t like it. However, the next person who comes along might not be so \_\_\_\_\_\_._
I’ve been bouncing all around my paperback thesaurus and my computer’s dictionary but nothing sounds juuuust right. A word similar to _accommodating_ or _tolerant_ that doesn’t insult either party.
I’m in no hurry and to tell the truth this is not of vital importance. It just bugs me when I can’t find the exact word I need in this vast and wonderful language of ours.

Come to think of it, acquiescent is probably a better fit.

I think you need to sort out for us if the word you are looking for needs to convey the notion that the next person might not be so inclined, or might not be so magnanimous.
The former is sort of neutral and the latter captures more of the…well, magnaminity of letting something slide.

I’m confused. You’re the one who’s been wronged, but the next person who does it might not be so forgiving? Unflappable? Why would they need to have any of those traits about something that’s been done to you? They wouldn’t forgive you for being done wrong?
I think what you’re looking for are words which describe the character of 2 people: one of whom does something bad to you, and the other (hopefully) might not be such a douche.
So, the next person might not be such a dick.
Or, are you saying towards the next person who does such to you, you might not be so \_\_\_\_?

Right, the next person might not be so forgiving of the faux pas and and might react in an unpleasant way. It’s a way of telling the miscreant that his behavior is offensive and, while you’re letting him off the hook, he might be in for an unpleasant experience with the next guy if he were to do it again.

In that case I’d say honorifabilitudinitatibus. Or, “obliging”.

accomodating
understanding
tolerant
civil
polite
forgiving
generous
willing to turn a blind eye
peaceful
quiescent
All of these words could convey what you want to say. Start with any of these as your ‘seed’ words in your search through a thesaurus, and you will eventually hit a word you like.
You may also like to try using the [visual thesaurus](http://www.visualthesaurus.com/), even if the only reasons to do so are that it looks cool and you can.

Yes! That’s exactly the notion I want to convey.
I also like the suggestions _obliging and non-confrontational_.
