I guess this is a girly question. What the heck is it for? It doesn’t seem to do anything special, except turn around. Is it an outgrowth of the robot yappy-dog? (which I think I heard in the background.) ---

It’s a mech, of the japanese Anime/manga variety (Gundam, Macross, Robotech, etc.) et al.) which itself has inspired numerous board (Battletech et al.) and video (Mechwarrior et al.) games over the years. Blame H.G. Wells. He started that whole “giant freakin’ robot” idea. 🙂 As for this? Meh. _Land walker_ is a bit generous. Land _shuffler_, maybe. Land _moseyer_ perhaps. But until this thing can haul ass over hill and dale and totally freak out the entire neighbourhood, I’ll pass. ---
