I like Keanu Reeves. There, I said it. I thought he was great in Much Ado About Nothing and I really liked him in Constantine. I also liked him in Point Break, The Matrix and My Own Private Idaho. I also liked him in Parenthood and of course Bill and Ted’s etc. I get much grief about this from my friends. But I stand by my opinion.

Casting against type (or even actor pigeonholding) can produce some interesting and intriguing results as long as the actors have the guts and chops to pull off the role reversal. Michael Keaton as “Batman.” Bill Murray as a mob boss, Robert De Niro as a hapless wimp in “Mad Dog and Glory.” Sylvester Stallone as a washed out law enforcer in “Copland.” Mel Gibson in “Hamlet.” De-glammed Halle Berry and Charlize Theron in “Monster’s Ball” and “Monster.”

Michael Keaton is Batman, Beetlejuice, Johnny Dangerously, and Mr. Mom.

Any other roles he’s been is NOT him and I refuse to acknowledge it. It’s a bad copy of him from Multiplicity.
the ONLY one I’ll even think of considering is Jackie Brown Michael Keaton.

Charlize? De-glammed? Understatement of the friggin’ century, there. She pulled it off wonderfully, though.

God, she and Halle Berry are hot.
