So, by your standard, is every culture is “stupid and evil”? IF not, can you name a moral culture?
When will people get “more moral and sophisticated [and] grow out of” favoring themselves and their children since this is “is stupid, and evil, and something the more moral and sophisticated grow out of”?
To greater and lesser degrees, yes. You won’t find moral perfection anywhere. However, a basic part of the moral and practical advancement of a society is to lessen the tendency of people to value kin over strangers.

This is probably one of the truest thingsI have read. Americans are notoriously kin-centric. And the thing of it is that you don’t have to cause harm to your kin to ensure security for others.
However I think we are fighting against biology here. Wouldn’t genetics predispose us to favoring the survival of our own DNA?
Depends. A degree of self interest no doubt helps you pass on your DNA. A degree of co-operation does also.
My personal theory is that one of the problems with a Human Brain Mk 1.00 is that it isn’t very well equipped to deal with the modern world. We have a monkeysphere which is waaaay too small for the modern world. It was probably about the right size for when we lived in small tribal groups. With modern mobility, interconnectedness and communications, what you do to people well outside your monkeysphere can have a significant effect upon you, and we’d probably be better off if we were able to fully consider everyone well outside our social circle as proper human beings and treat them accordingly, but it’s counterintuitive to do so.
