We had a fig tree at one house. Never got the drunk figs, though. Mr VOWā€™s stepmom cooked the figs into jam, and made homemade fig newtons. She used a shortbread cookie. The year Mr VOW bought his first chainsaw, he slashed that tree back so hard, we all figured it was dead. The poor tree took the trim as a huge relief, and burst forth the next year with greenery and figs. We always had the biggest, most gaudy-colored June bugs around that tree! Bugs creep me out, so I left others to deal with the tree and its products. ~VOW ---

I was gonna pick some more figs before it rained. I decided against it when I saw all the drunk pink elephants. Ohā€¦maybe I dreamed thatā€¦ šŸ˜‰, The figs all looked fermented. 12pints of figs is more than I really need, anyway. ---

Ok, hereā€™s the latest: Mr.Wrekker got home from Georgia. Heā€™s sequestered at the Lake house. The lilā€™wrekker will be here at least thru her first Trimester at her University. Sheā€™ll online it. Hamza will leave soon to go to his University. He has students lined up to teach via Zoom, or some such thingy. Iā€™m gonna miss his help. mid-Daughter sold her Condo, she will homeschool her boys. Not sure what sheā€™ll do about going home. Sheā€™s a procrastinator. I enjoy her cooking. I want her to stay, always. Son-of-a-wrek is working sporadically. Heā€™s on the clock 24/7 according to himā€¦ He spends an awful lot of time just hanging out here at the house, trying to convince me he needs a keg-o-rater(MSP) in the worst way. He has been doing his Dadā€™s chores, that was a help. DIL is still bossing everyone around, inventing casseroles and is our lifeline to Walmart and the Pharmacy. The Grandwrex are great. Iā€™ve had so much fun with them here. What a blessing. They certainly keep me moving. The Fort COVID is their favorite. The stockpond pool has proved more trouble than it was worth. My health is good. Iā€™m doing pretty much anything I want. Lefty is doing his job. Thatā€™s about it. ---
