Go easy on the moonshine to start, thereā€™s only going to be one kidney to process it. That said, I have a hippie friend who didnā€™t discover that sheā€™s only had one kidney her whole life and sheā€™s had plenty of hallucinating chemicals and alcohol in her life. At 69, sheā€™s going strong. ---

After Beckā€™s surgery, the jar will appear on the kitchen table (or the fireplace mantle, or above the kitchen sink). Beck is supposed to just smile and nod. ~VOW ---

Okay, I went to Amazon and bout the Kindle of ā€œOctober Country,ā€ by Ray Bradbury. Thatā€™s a collection of 31 short stories by Bradbury, including ā€œThe Jar.ā€ I love Ray Bradbury. Iā€™ve been fascinated by Mars ever since I first read anything by him. Another captivating story by him is ā€œAll Summer in a Day.ā€ ~VOW ---

Hey, Bekkers, Iā€™ve been giving the prank some thought. A beef kidney would probably fill the quart canning jar to overflowing. Look for a veal kidney. You might have to do some calling around. Olā€™beck ainā€™t eating no ones kidneys. Gah!! :eek: ~VOW the prankā€™s all set. I have a meat cutter pal at my little Market. Heā€™s gonna hook me up. He thinks Iā€™m insane, though. Iā€™m anxious about my appointment Wednesday with surgeon. I have had emails this morning from his dietician and the aftercare facility. This is shaping to be a big production. Beck, you know the Teeming Millions will all be cheering you on! Thereā€™ll be a photo of Kidney-in-a-Jar, right? VOW, I was a huge Bradbury fan when I was a kid. Iā€™m pretty sure I read everything heā€™d written up to that time. I canā€™t recall them all, though, and canā€™t recall many titles, so Iā€™m going to look up ā€œAll Summer in a Day.ā€ I think itā€™s time to start rereading! The Bradbury story that creeped me out the most was one where a man was disturbed by the idea his skeleton was grinning away inside him. Thatā€™s one I wouldnā€™t re-read. ---
