New update: Mr.Wrekker came in yesterday from his Mexican fishing trip. A large time was had. No Montezuma’s revenge. This morning after breakfast he heads outdoors to check on his kingdom. I’m cleaning the kitchen and look out at my garden where my winter greens are up and flourishing. Dammit. There’s a pig in my greens. I run for my Winchester and a bullet. (Never need more than one:)) I sneak out on the deck. I sat on the top step, aimed and shot. Pig no more. I’m sitting there basking in my wonderfulness. Mr.Wrekker comes at a fast clip, hollering,“What the hell are you shooting at?” I said one word, “Pig” and point to the garden. It was SO worth it to see his face. I go put the gun up (jeez, I gotta clean this gun). I look out and he’s getting the pig outta my turnip greens, to take it to the pig grave yard. In a while he came in the house to eat something. He looked at me and said “Just how many pigs HAVE you shot?” Hmmm? Let me count this up: beck- 8 feral pigs, one hogzilla mama. Off my deck. No travelling necessary. Mr.Wrekker- 2 feral hogs in Texas. Sleeping on the ground. Close to a bunch of stinky men. Yep. I win!! ---

I knew a guy who bred wild pigs for AR Game & Fish. I ate some with deer at a cook out. Both were cooked to hell and gone. I couldn’t tell them apart. ---

I’ve cooked tons of wild game meat. I have to watch or I will over cook it. Venison doesn’t have alot of fat. It’s get dry if it’s cooked too long. But eating it rare is not a good idea. YMMV. I ain’t eatin’ it anyway. Yuk! Feral hog is not edible. At. All. Captive and bred wild hog is a different thing, altogether. Presumably they’ve been wormed and vaccinated. And since its Saturday and the Razorbacks have a game today: Whoo Pig!! Sooie!!🙂 ---
