Am I the only one here who considers the herd of deer as Ms. Wrekker’s best chance of getting rid of this car? Girl, sometimes you just gotta run them deer down. It may total your car, but at least your car would be totaled. ---

My Dad laughed when he bought a new Honda Accord and I told him that he’d be sitting in the parking lot of his apartment with the manual for 2 hours on the weekend running through everything. The reason I told him that is because I did the same thing with SWMBO’s Edge when it was new. Turns out I was wrong, though. He was there for 2.5 hrs with a 15 minute coffee break. FWIW, my Dad was a radio technician and knows his way around technology and so do I. With a new car, you pretty much have to RTFM. **Bex** , when we bought our last two vehicles (both Fords), Shelly our saleperson extraordinaire ran SWMBO and I through every feature on the car and how it worked. See if the dealer would be willing to do so for you. Also, you should be able to lock and unlock the car just by touching the handle. ---

Is it the alarm or a “panic button”? I had a panic button on a fob that the original owner had coated with epoxy so it wouldn’t get accidentally triggered. Gotta do that to my new fob. ---

Is the “alarm” going off, or is just the horn beeping twice and lights flashing when you lock and unlock the doors? If it is the latter, that is just to give visual and auditory confirmation that the lock/unlock worked. It is easily disabled in the settings. ---

No, no it’s the alarm. I called the dealer this morning. I’m going in for a tutorial. How effing lame is that? Mr Wrekker decided he would figure it out and spent, oh I’d say 20min., punching the key fob and cussing at it. He came in and threw the keys on the table and threw his hands up. So unlike him. I’m waiting for the “What did you do to it?” accusatory question. This may be a fun afternoon, after all.🙂 I do have this allergy to electronics, sometimes. I may truly be allergic to the orange menace. The saga continues… ---

I never had a tape turn into a Queen’s Greatest Hits either. The one time I left a tape in the car for a few days, it ended up looking like something out of Dali’s “Persistence of Memory.” ---

Be glad he didn’t buy you something like a BMW with multiple driving modes and a host of other incomprehensible settings. Like I said upthread, even a technologically savvy male (as opposed to a technologically savvy female) like me has had to break the Man Rule (6.a.i Thou shall only read the manual for any new purchase after you have exhaustively pushed every combination of buttons and levers without success. Never with witnesses present. Especially your spouse/significant other) and read the manual. ---
