The ham was juicy with cajun butter injected into it. Without that done prior to dunking in the hot peanut oil I could see it being very dry. The spices in the butter were a bit over the top, for me. Son-of-a-wrek sliced it after it rested, kinda thinly. It was a massive ammt.of sliced ham. Everybody will have sandwich meat this week. I heard one of the kids say it tasted like candy.🙂 ---

So if butter isn’t injected into it first, a deep-fried ham would be dry??? I can feel my arteries hardening just reading about this. ---

I think it might would. That cajun butter is tasty stuff. But VERY bad for you. High calorie. Too much salt. Too much fat. I was reading the container trying to figure out if eating the ham would kill me. Too much sugar in it, also. I ate one piece, I figured I could live thru that. ---

Actually, the deep frying takes out most of the fat from the ham. Watch that video and look how much smaller the ham is when it comes out. What’s left is mostly lean meat. Its not like breading and frying something, where the breading picks up a shipload of oil in the process. Glad you had a fun family weekend! ---

Son-of-a-wrek says EVERYthing is better fried. Cats didn’t like all the noise, mostly. I guess. They’ve been in a foul humor all day. They came down for a treat and were in a better mood tonight. I predict about 3 days of snootiness. ---

Beck does your family take a lot of video of these get togethers? Not asking you to post. Just curious since smart phones make it so easy to capture video. I wish there was video of my family get-togethers. That was a few years before smartphones. Too late now.
