We’ve lost a few long-time posters to death. See the [In Memoriam](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=510802) sticky. And a few new Doper marriages and quite a few new babies, too. Recently, they merged the Comments on Cecil’s Columns and the Staff Reports forums into one. There’s a thread in the BBQ about [Workplace Griping](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=585296) that has run for over a year now, and some of the stories in it are epic. See **flatlined** ’s posts about Shredder Guy; they are not to be missed. And the Pit also now has a monthly mini-rants thread, which is a good place to blow off steam about the little things in life that get to you but aren’t worth a full scale pitting. ---

Towards the end of his tenure here, **Dio** started to display a tendency to hijack threads he entered, taking an extreme position on the subject of debate and vehemently defending it, often to the point of thread closure. This got on many people’s nerves. ---
