Beer Can Chicken - help me out!

[QUOTE=squeegee]
Here’s a web site where a guy did a taste test of beer can chicken using beer vs water in the can, and he couldn’t tell the difference between them. So it may just be the steam helps the meat stay moist and the type of liquid doesn’t matter much. Heresy, I know.

This man obviously cannot be trusted, as he used the words “too,” “much,” and “beer” in the same scentence. :smiley:

I believe he could not tell the difference between beer and water. He used Budweiser! As Monty Python put it, " American beer is like making love in a canoe - It’s f***ing close to water."

I’m looking for something to impress the cubs on camp at the end of the month, which is why we’ll only have the camp fire to use.

I think an inverted billy can over the chicken would work to retain the heat.

Although I’m normally a paid-up “free range only” chap when it comes to chicken, I might well try with a couple of Asda’s £2.50 birds while I experiment. :slight_smile:
