# "Beerfest" - super or dreadful?

The advertising has begun for Broken Lizard’s [Beerfest](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0486551/). Now I loved and own the DVD of earlier BL effort _Super Troopers_ which made the disappointment of _Club Dread_ all the more devastating, though in hindsight even that movie had its moments, like Bill Paxton’s ultradoped spoof of Jimmy Buffet and the live-action Pac-Man game, as well as copious buxon babes galore.

Sadly, Linda Carter isn’t in this one, but I’m hoping Cloris Leachman will do… something.

Ambivalent anticipation. Yay.

I want to see this.

_Super Troopers_ was good, and I own it, but it’s never quite gotten to the level of hype and reverence afforded it by most of my former college roommates (maybe that has to do with the fact that they smoked while watching, I didn’t.)

Never saw _Club Dread_, and never saw any reason to.

But this, on premise alone, seems great. Underground beer games fight club. And the supporting cast is strong. Cloris Leachman foremost. But I also want to see more from both Eric Christian Olsen (because of his great job in a stupid role in _Not Another Teen Movie_) and James Roday (who is cracking me up every week in the TV show _Psych_). Will Forte and Mo’Nique, I can take or leave.
