Before and after is a trivia game where the answer is two names, titles, or phrases combined. For example, the clue might be “Black Sabbath biopic for Andy Kaufman” and the answer would be “Iron Man on the Moon”. The knack is figuring out the connecting word. 1. A swindle during the succession crisis in Westeros. 2. Brad and Janet go to Kindergarten with a new toy. 3. Nevil Shute can’t kill the rooster. 4. Matt Foley inspires Ender Wiggin in his new job. 5. The Maid of Orleans repairing her armor with electricity. 6. Duran Duran’s peckish arachnid. 7. Quahog’s Muppet game show host. 8. Horror writer stars in a New York City sitcom. 9. Ben Stiller’s romantic comedy about the Crucifixion and Resurrection. 10. Massachusetts tourist destination renamed for Renaissance menswear. Hints available on request. I won’t be surprised if somebody comes along and does the whole list, but you never know when a B&A will prove to be too silly to solve. ---

Yep, that’s right, of course. Hint for “Nevil Shute can’t kill the rooster”: Seattle. Hint for “Ben Stiller’s romantic comedy about the Crucifixion and Resurrection”: prostitute. Enginerd, can I get a hint on “Rib roast of the savior”, please? And here’s some more. I like writing them. 1. A hoarse singer is going to attack from concealment. 2. Buddy cop flick with a soundtrack by the Cure. 3. Spaghetti western starring Hans Christian Anderson. 4. Peter Matthiessen was stranded on an island and things went badly. 5. Stooge causes gastric distress when mixed with Coca Cola, allegedly. 6. Sebastian Cabot’s reign of terror. 7. Sweet slogan for a punk rock icon. 8. Betty Grable and Don Ameche put on Armani jackets and smoke Luckies. 9. Link rescues a flapper. 10. Will Smith’s partner says “um”. 11. Superman plays a hair metal homage. 12.
