Well, I hoped there would be a lockdown on these posts, as there should be, but I see there’s still the killing feilds here. It’s been 16 posts ago since I apologized etc. but you continue to milk everything you can out of the subject. Why do you do that? It’s such meanness . It’s as though you enjoy hurting. There’s such mean-spirited stuff here! I’m hoping there’s also some compassion in you somewhere, so you can allow yourselves to feel for another, instead of expending so much harsh judgement. I’ll tell you what; …If I stick my neck out and do some disclosing would you get off my back and try to show me some understanding? I’m hoping for a more compassionate attitude. It’s the constructive thing ; the prevailing attitude now is so destructive.,…and SO mean! If I expose a few things would you promise to stop cutting me up? Dee, nobody is attacking you! While some of the posts certainly seem to be ‘taking the mickey’ out of your interest in Engelbert, they are, from what I’ve read, lighthearted and very tongue-in-cheek. They are not mean-spirited. If you are indeed hurt by them, perhaps that is something YOU need to address. Oh, and I ain’t promising nuthin’, but I’d LOVE to hear more about the story! Really. I’ll TRY to be compassionate, but you’ve gotta promise not to run and sulk in the corner if someone doesn’t see things quite the way you do. That’s a fair deal, dontcha reckon?😃 ---

Oh, and I’d like to add that Glenn Miller is the sexiest musician ever to walk the planet. I also ought to warn you that if you claim in a Pit thread that you carried Engelbert Humperdinck’s love child, much hilarity, largely at your expense, _will_ ensue. If you really want to make such a revelation, at the very least you’d better do it in MPSIMS. There, that was my good deed for the month. I’m only 138 behind now. ---

I certainly hope no one mistook my opportunity to show off my knowledge of Jack Dean Tyler’s obcession and inevitible meltdown as a dig at deeward. Those of you who know who JDT was also know exactly what I was talking about. Those of you who don’t know who this guy was should just do a search for his posts and threads discussing him. I had this all written out with adequate detail, but at the last moment , decided not to post it for fear of opening another Pandora’s box. One thing that it’s necessary to do in order to understand this is to keep in mind a picture of the person involved here as he was when young. If you don’t , there’s no sense to it. This will be very short , and , to some extent leave something to the imagination. “Those who will see will see” (bible). As far as I’m concered there’s no trouble connecting the dots and is sufficent as it is. This is about a young woman seized by an affliction that causes her to black out without any warning . It’s a type of Epilepsy. (no “fits”). About extreme poverty , and desolate loneliness. About devestation from the lack of trust in life and people, and about the dam breaking when it was long overdue to break. It’s about the darkness falling on the wings of night and a big bottle of pills. About a light turned on and a life lifted. It’s also about a fan club and destiny’s gift at destiny’s time. A beautiful touch; a beautiful voice, and beautiful heart and a very beautiful face. It is also about two kinds of records: one being a small “45” and a voice that spoke to us expressing appreciation for support. (He called us “Little Devils”) About a return from a trip to Las Vegas and a quickening of the senses that made me remember something. A listening to the voice on that small record and the dam breaking again , and with it, my composure. Let that suffice, and you can put the peices together yourself. Now me be. So let me get this right. At the nadir of your pretty miserable life, E.H. came along and touched something within you that allowed you to see things in a different light? Is that it? Well, I still don’t see what all the bloody fuss was about Deeward. That sort of thing has probably happened to most of us at one time or other during our lives. I could roll out poets and muso’s who have saved my sanity on occasion. But the meaning I find in those words and relationship with the artist is MY MEANING and I don’t expect others to see things the same way. In fact, I’d probably get jealous if they DID!! I don’t give a flying fuck whether YOU admire my heart-throbs or not. They’re MINE! And just between you and me, I wouldn’t play the victim here too much either. Wailing about people being out to get you is a bit rich, especially in a community as (mostly) understanding and sympathetic as the Doper bunch seem to be. It really does almost sound like you get your jollies out of posting contentious stuff, then sitting around miserably wondering what on earth you have done to deserve such responses.
