My FIL was a civilian auditor for the Dept. of Defense. As such, he got access to all the bases and amenities, specifically golf courses. I always like playing Air Force courses with him, 'cause they were always NICE. Golf courses on Army bases were obviously an afterthought, I think the AF built the golf course first then added a base. ---

Standing over your ball while multiple M-16’s lay down continuous fire, with the thought in the back of your reptile brain screaming “What if one of those soldiers goes berserk and turns around 180 degrees?” makes it quite challenging to hit a good shot. Played a lot of second shots from the deep rough on that hole. ---
