# Belarus Language Translation Question

This is a continuation of my earlier question

Can anyone translate these english words to Belarusian?

There is surprisingly little translation help available online!

fox  
mink  
squirrel  
weasel  
sable  
ermine  
rabbit

As you can guess I’m trying to figure out what kind of fur a hat is made of, I see the label but can’t figure out what it says!

The following are the translations into **Russian** (not Belarussian) for the animals/furs of which you speak. The two languages are fairly closely related, and something quite similar to the Russian words may be the accurate Belarussian.

fox – лиса  
mink – норка  
squirrel – белка  
weasel – ласка  
sabel – соболь  
ermine – горностай  
rabbit – кролик

Thanks for the help Polycarp, I tried russian first ( thats what language I assumed it was in ) and none of the russian words seem to fit. I guess I’m gonna need a fluent Belarusian…

Wow do many people speak Belarusian? I can’t believe how little translation is out there…
