These threads are making me realize how different the [Australian](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_number-one_singles_in_Australia_during_the_1990s#1997) music scene was from the US one and why I’m failing to recognize so many songs on these lists. Apart from Wannabe, MMMBop & Candle in the Wind, the rest of the list has no overlap.

I remember the Summer of 97 in Australia where it was wall to wall Barbie Girl/Tub Thumping/Doctor Jones.
