heh! heh! you are a man of a certain age I’m guessing. As such you’ll probably be on board with my suggestion of “Town Called Malice/Precious” by the Jam. Those two songs could easily be the soundtrack to my youth. You certainly got your money’s worth with that release

I like _Honky Tonk Women/You Can’t Always Get What You Want_ even better.

But it’s not as good as _Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields Forever_. It can’t get any better than that IMHO.

Btw., another contender with a split A-side is of course Dylan’s _Like A Rolling Stone_. Being born too late to have heard the original single, I have always wondered how the split was edited. Was there a fade-out/fade-in on the respective sides?
