Best and worst movie couples

Best: Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova as the Guy and the Girl in Once. Also, in real life, they have amazing musical chemistry.

I can top both of those Tom Cruise/Nicole Kidman choices: Cruise/Kidman in that stupid, stupid movie Far and Away. I couldn’t understand why those two people from completely disparate backgrounds would fall in love – no charm whatsoever on Tom Cruise’s part.

Worst: Michael Douglas and Gwyneth Paltrow in A Perfect Murder.

Very cold, bad acting. Might have something to do with the financially broke Michael Douglas character trying to get rid of his wealthy wife who is cheating on him with a sleaze bag lover.

The movie was based on Dial M for Murder, an 1954 Hitchcock film that I always watch when it’s rerun on TCM.
