I’m collecting angry lyrics for a friend of mine…out of songs that have really bitter lines in them about ex’s or ex best friends or just bad experiences…The best Angry lines I’ve heard were in a song called:

In Everclear’s “Father Of Mine,” Art Alexakis vents his rage at his own absent dad with gems like “Daddy gave me a name / Then he walked away.”
The Smiths’ “Unhappy Birthday” features some hilariously direct bile, gaining extra power from the absurdly chipper music: “I’ve come to wish you an unhappy birthday / Because you’re evil and you lie / And if you should die / I may feel slightly sad, but I won’t cry.”

In terms of ballads (as opposed to hard rockers, who apparently have to be angry to keep their image hip), 10cc’s _I’m Not in Love_ is one of the more bitter “love songs” you’ll find:

I never saw \*I’m not in Love \* as a bitter or angry song, but rather one of intense hurt. The guy’s trying to deal with his feelings for a lost love with textbook denials. “I’m only calling you to see how you’re doing… Yeah, I still have your picture hanging on my wall, but it’s only there to hid a stain.” Yeah, right.

More or less anything by [Voltaire](http://www.voltaire.net/). \Ex Lover’s Lover\ is particularly nice and twisted. Regrettably, he is somewhat tetchy about the posting of lyrics, but he has a few sample MP3s up.
