An actual band from about 10 years ago was **Urge Overkill**. I always liked the sound of that weird juxtaposition of words. ---

\*\*Three Mile Island \*\* was the name of a highschool band several kids I knew formed. Always thought that band name ruled. 🆒 They were all life-long school-band or chorus members who had been taking advanced music theory courses together. They wrote pretty good original stuff in addition to being a great cover band. There were four guys, Alan played guitar and sung, Chris sung, played guitar, and the keyboard, Matt played guitar, bass and drums, and Kevin sung, played bass, and keyboard. They would alternate who played what depending on the song, but most songs were played with the classic 2 guitars (Alan and Chris), 1 bass (Kevin), and drums (Matt). Incidentally, Chris did excellent impersonations of the lead singer of Blur and Gorillaz (Dave Albarne?), as well as the lead singer of The Clash (don’t recall his name at all?) ---

I’d like to name a band **Oblivion Newton-John** , but I don’t know if I’d ever be in a band silly enough to merit a name like that. So any of you are free to use it. 😃 My friend’s band’s name is **Weapons of Mass Seduction**. Go see them if you’re in Ottawa! ---

Sorry for the double post, but I forgot to mention that a friend of mine used to use JFKFC as his IRC nick, but he had never heard of the band until someone saw his nick and mentioned it to him! ---

In the mid-80s we took a class trip to Harrisburg (state cap. & the TMI reactors are just outside of town) and there were a lot of fliers around for a local punk band called **Toxic Snot** , who unsurprsingly had a lot of songs about TMI itself. I know this because they listed all of the song titles on their cassette on the fliers! There were really two Clash vocalists, Mick Jones and the unintelligible Joe Strummer, who is the more likely target of impersonation. ---

Onward Crispen Glover plays periodically in Lawrence, though I’ve never seen them. I’ll have to check them out next time they’re through and tell them of the buzz surrounding their name. ---

**Anastasaeon** and **Crandolph** , thanks for the correct vocalist names. As for _which_ Clash vocalist, it was whichever one sung Rock the Casbah, Know your rights, etc. Yeah, I live in Chester County, PA, **Crandolph** , so that probably had to do with their choice of band name. Now that I think about, I’m not entirely sure which instruments each of them could play. I know what each of them _usually_ played, and I remember that each of the guys knew more than one instrument, but looking back at my post (God I wish this forum had an edit-post function, you know, like _every other MB on the net_ ), it doesn’t seem right somehow. Not that you guys really care or anything… :rolleyes: Excuse my rambling. 😛 ---
