Here’s one that’s definitely an opinion, because I don’t think we’d ever get a group to agree. What is the best Beatles song of all time? You have a choice of approximately 180 songs, if we count not just released singles, but all songs on all albums. I’m going to go with “Norwegian Wood” from “Rubber Soul”. Enter your vote here. I’ll be surprised if we get any kind of consensus. ---

The second side of Abbey Road, although technically a medley, I consider more of a Symphonic Opera, and thus a single piece and the height of the concept album. Overture, Main Acts, Epilogue. Without question the best of the Fabs. One song? _Across the Universe_ popped into my head against my will when I saw the thread title. ---

One of the things that makes the Beatles great is that picking just one song is so difficult. But… another vote for A Day In The Life; partly because it’s the best of John and Paul together. ---

The “best”? That’s tough. The archetypal Beatles song (to me) is “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” The one that showcases the best of John & Paul? “A Day In The Life” The one that showcases Harrison at his best? “Something” The one that showcases Paul? “Yesterday” The one that showcases John? “Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite” (“Paperback Writer” a close second) My favorite? “Only A Northern Song” But “The Best”?
