I’m a little embarrassed to admit it, but I think I understand how **Steophan’s** mind works. A few months ago I was binge-watching some British crime movies and they were all identical–basically, they start off with a gang of young mixed-ethnicity ruffians terrorizing a neighborhood. Scene 1 inevitably shows the ruffians doing something awful–rape, murder, etc. Something bad is going to happen to the youths in the final scene, so the writers have to establish up front to even the stupidest viewers (and I think you know who I’m referring to) that these ruffians are really bad guys, so the audience won’t feel bad when the tables are turned. The poor, innocent people they terrorize are helpless to stop them, guns not being legal in England. The police are equally helpless. In fact, Scene 2 is almost inevitably the police being mocked to their face for their inability to do anything. Finally, a group of old-school bad guys, who are all honorable people deep-down, gets tired of the ruffians, and kills them. Usually with guns. Or maybe it’s a rouge cop who gets tired of those pesky laws keeping him from gunning down all the bad guys. Whatever. Anyway, the point is, I could see how someone who didn’t get much human interaction and who spent too much time in front of the television, and who maybe wasn’t able to distinguish poorly-written pablum from reality, could have the opinions that \*\*Steophan \*\*has. Basically he’s the British equivalent of elderly Americans who watch too much Fox News. ---
