Best Buy In Store Pickup Experiences?

Pretty much this. Although I’d gotten the confirmation that it was ready, they still had to find it, and this after I’d waited in line behind someone with a complicated return.

Then they wanted me to show my receipt when I was leaving, although at the store I went to I had to exit through the cashier area from the desk where I picked up my item. No one who goes to the store and buys there has to show a receipt after walking the 5 feet from the register to exit.

I said no, and left and they didn’t challenge me. If they had, I would have walked back to customer service and returned it. (This is a particular peeve of mine. I do it at Costco with no complaint, because I signed that membership agreement. Elsewhere, no, I won’t.)

I’ll do it if I want something that’s online and not in stores (free “ship to store”) but my experience is like the others in this thread - it’s not worth it if you can just go pull stuff off the shelf yourself.

The biggest problem with any system like this (I’ve done it at Wal Mart too, and Lane Bryant) is what Foxy40 pointed out - you have to wait in line behind all of the customer service customers and that can take a long time.

Their search engine isn’t what it used to be. BB is one of the favorite whipping boys of the consumerist web site. It has later been backed up by several Forbes articles detailing the mismanagement and never-ending crappy customer service of BB.

im bit confused. So if the purchase price for best buy online is $176 and its higher at the store, i still will get the item at the price i bought online right?

you make the purchase online at that price and arrange for free pickup at the store you specify. you will get notification during the purchase or by email when to pick it up.
