Any time I can get a discount that outweighs the benefit of points or cash back on a card (typically 2% or higher) by paying cash, I do so. Most chain outfits don’t but independent businesses make an offer quite often. I’ve saved as much as 10%.
The OP didn’t mentioned whether there was a phone number anywhere on the receipt or email or if that phone number was different from the listed customer service number for Best Buy.

And every month I get a Sprint bill and receipt for some other kambuckta somewhere in the world.
