For almost everything but the menstruation needs, I’d say put it in a lovely basket. And put a label saying “For my female friends” on a drawer. I would really not have expected a male to provide such things, or even think of such things, but it is really sweet. ---

By Feminine Products I did mean those relating mostly to menstration based products. One other “dumb” guy question ’ Do these sort of things “go stale” or have a use before date? As to letting guests know that there are supplies available, I will just mention that the guest cabinet in the bathroom has “anything you might need, but if you don’t see it ask”. I already have Tooth brushes (new, in packages) tooth paste, acetominophen, non drowsy allergy med, cough drops, combs, q-tips, contatc lense sol’n, basic shaving supplies, tweezers and nail clippers, and thanks to Carrici, a few brown paper bags. There will also be a note letting them know that these products are for them to use as needed. thanks again for all the help! FML ---

No, as far as I know these products don’t go stale. I know that some products have been discontinued, but I don’t see how they can go stale. ---

This thread makes me wish my house was big enough to have a guest bathroom so I could stock all manner of nice things for my house guests. I would know that nobody is worrying about bleeding all over their clothes or embarrassing hairs, and that would make them happy, and I would know they were happy and they would know I was happy they were happy. Oh to have a guest bathroom! ---

I once went to a restaurant bathroom that had a bunch of tampons in a coffee mug, and also some ponytail holders and hairspray. I was touched. ---

I went to a ballroom in a fancy-pants hotel once and their bathroom had a stack of tampons sitting in a cute wicker basket on the sink counter. Maybe it sounds weird, but my first reaction was that it looked surprisingly classy, considering it was tampons. ---

I’m a guy and the entire idea here is a bit strange IMO. Personally, I guess I would rather only have house guests who come prepared. That said, my gf has a shelf in my spare bathroom stocked with “stuff” that I have never perused. ---

I was touched. [/QUOTE] My aunt just got married, and she had a basket full of all kinds of “hospitality suppiles” in the bathroom at the reception–ibuprofen, safety pins, tampons–all kinds of stuff. There was a tag on the basket with a little poem on it about “helping our guests feel their best”. I thought it was a nice touch, and it could possibly save someone from having to go home early. ---

[/QUOTE] Perfect, brilliant. If you’re going completely all out, I’d suggest a travel-size bottle of some kind of unscented hair fixative, like gel. It’s the sort of thing no one would really want to ask for, but that could help a lot in making someone feel comfortable and non-self-conscious.
