Lately, I have to go with the “California Cows”. The one with the cow under the sprinkler to the tune of Styx’s “Lady” while the two bulls stare at her is great; also, the two cows ringing the farmer’s doorbell and running away always cracks me up! ---

I LOVE the Geico commercial for “Tiny House.” Each time I see it, I desperately want Mark Burnett to contact the Geico people and buy the idea so they can actually make that show! ---

Most Brits would cite the campaign for Cadbury’s [Smash](http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/572903.stm) featuring Martians as their favourite advert: “What is this place?” “It is called Hud-ders-field”. I saw one in Australia recently that made me laugh out loud - for beer, of course; it featured a bunch of blokes whacking cane toads over the fence at the border between NSW and Queensland with golf clubs. ---

I love [this one](http://members.cox.net/codemanb/meearsarealight.html) for Maxell tape, using Desmond Dekker’s notoriously unintelligible “Israelites.” A classic from the '60s that I was reminded of when it was included on the _Goldfinger_ DVD as part of the bonus material: James Bond baddie Oddjob (played by the original actor) is walking down the street suffering from a terrible cold, and every time he sneezes his arm involuntarily lashes out and karate chops a lamppost or brick wall. He gets to his door and his wife meets him there with a spoonful of cold medicine, narrowly preventing another sneeze–then she looks over his shoulder and sees the trail of devastation he has left behind him. ---

The Honda one with the 16 head shots and 16 cars and the music box background. I would drop whatever I was doing to see that commercial. Alas, it seems to have been pulled. ---

The singer, Richard Jobson, was even more incomprehensible than Desmond Dekker: well, he’s Scottish for a start. I think the words on the cards went something like: Into the valley Peas sure sound divine That sissy suff-ered you, so who can Viv iron? The soldiers go marching, there’s masses of lamb. Whose disease is catskin? My picture is Hugh’s toe Ahoy! Ahoy! Barman and soda Ahoy! Ahoy! Len see a stye Ahoy! Ahoy! Lung nearly gave … (etc - anyone know them all?) ---

[Terry Tate: Office Linebacker](http://www.whoomp.com/media/showphoto.php?photo=287&cat=514) for Reebok. And then there was one for some computer synch soft/hardware that featured a bunch of paramedics rushing up to a guy on a park bench, throwing him on the ground, and looking puzzled that there’s nothing wrong with him. They all leave the guy and seconds later, a chimp comes running out of the woods with a chainsaw. The point was that you need to be synchronized. Sadly I don’t know who ran that ad. ---
