oh man…I haven’t seen 95% of these but I’m laughing my ass off just imagining them. (Wasn’t the one with Mr. T picking apples David Letterman? I know I saw it because I remember whoever it was was trying to get Mr. T to “scare” the apples out of the tree. ROFL! “COME DOWN OUTTA THAT TREE, FOO APPLES!”) ---

Another favorite of mine is when Andy came back on as a guest (I think he was promoting Scary Movie 2.) Conan says something like, “I wonder if his new stardom has changed him?” They show him backstage on a surveillance camera. He has a big possee of burly thugs. A “Late Night” employee gives him the all-one-color M&Ms that he demanded. He takes throws the bowl off the table and his crew goes crazy. Then says that he’s changed. I guess you’d have to see that one… ---

Very early in the show they did one of the strangest and funniest things I’ve ever seen. It was fake commercial for “Hello Kitty”, directed by Leni Reifenstahl, who directed “Triumph of the Will”. It was this vaguely Nazi toy commercial with Hello Kitty being this gigantic iconic figure, and it kept cutting to pictures of kids playing with other toys in total silence - with a hearbeat in the background. Very bizarre. Anyone else ever see that? And of course, Triumph is fantastic. “Hey, Bon Jovi, I heard you were going to be in a movie, playing a vampire. They finally found a job for you where you are _supposed_ to suck!” “Heather Locklear! Heather, did Richie Sambora feather his pubes?” Conan is by far the funniest talk show on the air. He makes Letterman and Leno look old and stale. ---

A number of months ago, Conan was doing this skit about how Sting was using his Desert Rose song in ads. They showed a bit of the Desert Rose Jaguar ad, then cut back to Conan talking about how Sting was now using that same song to advertise another product. Cut to the back silhouette of a cat, and Desert Rose starts playing over the Meow Mix commercial with the cat doing the top-hat-and-cane dance. I couldn’t breathe for a good five minutes after I saw it. I can’t watch a Meow Mix commercial with a straight face anymore. ---

EVERY time he checks out some new channels or game shows you know you’re in for some hilarity. Also: SHATNER…Secretsss… ---

Ooh, ooh, you guys reminded me of the dancing Hasidic Ninjas! Which, in turn, reminded me of the time when Conan was sitting at his desk, talking about something, and then he hears a voice behind him… he turns, sees a white-robed figure, and joyfully exclaims, “Look, everyone, it’s JESUS!!!” Ten minutes later I was still giggling at Christ’s random appearance on Conan O’Brien’s show… ---

Any time they introduce “New Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter Characters”, you know there’ll be something good. Doc Jimmy, the man with the dirtiest handshake. The asian guy who’s bad at math. The guy who says he hates Star Trek, but genuinely like dressing in Star Trek clothing. The world’s oldest stuntman. Let’s not forget that Triumph and the Masturbating Bear first appeared on that segment. It always cracks me up when they manage to find a reason for Bill Clinton to show up in the “Live Via Sattelite” segments.
