One of may favorite scenes (these go through Missandei) Dany: “Is it done do they belong to me?” Slave Master: “It is done. She holds the whip” (Dany tries forward march and halt) SM: “Tell the bitch the beast won’t come” Dany: “A dragon is not a slave” DM “You speak Valerian?” Dany: “Valerian is my mother tongue\*” (she then goes on to order the Unsullied to kill guards and slavers and free other slaves) “Dracarys” Brian - After stating who she is (hope this wasn’t too long) ---

Bronn (on why he won’t fight The Mountain): “I’d be a bloody fool if he didn’t frighten me. He’s freakish big and freakish strong, and quicker than you’d expect for a man of that size. Maybe I could take him, dance around until he’s so tired from hacking at me he dropped his sword, get him off his feet somehow…but one misstep and I’m dead. Why should I risk it?” Basically foreshadowed Oberyn’s fight exactly. ---

It’s one of my favorite scenes from the show, primarily because of exactly what you’re referencing. It’s a quiet little scene between Littlefinger and Varys in the throne room at King’s Landing (first or second season, I think), and it’s very understated … but the scathing, incisive, world-weary wit of Varys was on full display there. ---
